Fred Hagans, founder and principal of Hagans Burdine Montgomery & Rustay, P.C. in Houston, has been practicing litigation for over 40 years. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law. Fred has handled hundreds of cases which resulted in verdicts or settlements greater than $1,000,000.
Fred is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School (J.D., 1972) and the University of Texas (B.A., 1969). He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Association of Certified Trial and Appellate Specialists, and Houston Trial Lawyers Association. Fred is also a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation.
Fred speaks frequently on the subject of professionalism and ethics as well as other topics in civil litigation and is co-author of the Texas Lawyer’s Creed which is adopted by the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
Fred has also served as Past President and Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Gulf Coast Chapter.
