For over 20 years, Mr. Altman has dedicated his entire professional life holding rule breakers responsible for their actions. In law school, he excelled academically and was selected as a member of the Loyola Law Review. Mr. Altman has written published articles and has assisted in the drafting of rules governing attorney ethics. He has also taught continuing legal education to attorneys in handling personal injury matters. He is experienced in representing people in a variety of injury and damage matters in all respects including trial and appellate work.
Mr. Altman is AV rated “preeminent” by Martindale.com. As of 2014, Mr. Altman is one of only 11 lawyers in the state of Mississippi to earn the designation of Board Certification in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification. He is also one of the first attorneys in the country to become Board Certified in Civil Pretrial Advocacy by the same National Board. Mr. Altman has been selected by peer recognition and professional achievement by Super Lawyers from 2010-2013. He was also selected as one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Mississippi in 2013 by the same publication. This recognition places him in the top 5% of all attorneys in the state of Mississippi. Since 2013, Mr. Altman has also been selected by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 trial lawyers for Mississippi.
Mr. Altman is an active member of the Mississippi Bar, Louisiana State Bar Association, Florida State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association (MAJ) and the American Trial Lawyers Association (AAJ).
Mr. Altman has a passion for sailing and has created and served on the board of directors of a sailing non-profit organization that promote youth sailing in our community. He is also a multiple year Florida and Mississippi state Judo champion and the co-owner of a Judo studio teaching self-defense and fitness. He has competed both nationally and internationally and was a member of the U.S. team competing in the World Maccabiah Games in Israel. Mr. Altman applies the discipline learned in martial arts to maximize both the presentation and outcome in his representation of injured people. Over the past two decades, Mr. Altman has obtained tens of millions of dollars in compensation from rule breakers who endanger our community. He has obtained many six figure and several seven figure resolutions and verdicts for his clients.
Mr. Altman is the National Reptile Listserve Co-Manager and one of the first instructors of the Keenan Ball College.
