Tony Seaton




Tony Seaton is a sixth generation, upper East Tennessean who has practiced in Johnson City for over 38 years. He started his own practice 34 years ago concentrating his skills in serious injury law.   The firm’s goal is to continue to make the community safer one case at a time.   In the past five years Tony and the lawyers in his firm have spent hundreds of hours per year developing state of the art trial skills through the Keenan Trial Colleges.


Tony Seaton is AV rated by his peers through Martindale Hubble.   This is the highest possible rating and demonstrates his expertise and ethical abilities which is judged by other lawyers and judges.   Tony is also rated a perfect “10” by Avvo which is an internet rating cite used by professionals as well as individuals.


Tony has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association for over 25 years. He also serves on the Lawyers Involved for Tennessee board which is the lobbying equivalent for trial lawyers in Tennessee. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1988.


In 2012, Tony was appointed to the Access to Justice Commission by the Tennessee Supreme Court.  He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Commission. Since that time Tony has traveled across the state recruiting lawyers to start free legal advice clinics in most all of the judicial districts in the state.  Recently, the Law Offices of Tony Seaton donated the money to purchase a permanent sign outside the Good Samaritan Ministries which signifies the permanency of the Johnson City free legal clinic.


Currently Tony serves as the Assistant Dean for the Deposition College of the Keenan Colleges. He is currently teaching Deposition ,as well as Witness Preparation.
